Lisa V Robinson is an emerging contemporary UK painter, presently based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The basis of her practice is to investigate the possibilities of painting as a medium, whilst exploring the special balance between abstraction and figuration.
In 2008, Lisa graduated from Manchester School of Art gaining First Class honours in BA Fine Art Painting. Since graduating, she has proceeded to win the Joan Day Painting Bursary; which provided the funds and support to create her first solo exhibition at the South Square Gallery in Thornton, Bradford. Lisa is currently working towards her second solo exhibition which will open in October 2010 at The Bowery in Headingley, Leeds.
Lisa V Robinson is a current studioholder at Westgate Studios in Wakefield, which is open to the public on the last wednesday of every alternate month as part of the Wakefield Artwalk; a free event where various venues across Wakefield open their doors from 5pm until 9pm to showcase local, national and international talent, in the form of art exhibitions and live music. The next artwalk will be held on Wednesday 28th July 2010.
